What I Offer

Somatic Experiencing® Healing Sessions

Somatic Experiencing® sessions offer a slow, supportive space to help your body and nervous system settle, unwind, and reconnect to a sense of steadiness. We work gently and at your own pace, following what feels safe and possible in the moment.

These sessions can support you with overwhelm, old patterns, transitions, or the feeling of holding too much. Together, we create room for your system to soften, find more capacity, and move toward healing in a grounded and compassionate way.

Somatic Experiencing® touch sessions gentle, steady contact that helps your body feel supported from the inside. Through very light, non-invasive touch, always with your consent, providing the nervous system with grounding and containment. This can help soften activation, ease overwhelm, and bring more presence into areas that feel tense, collapsed, or disconnected.

These sessions are especially supportive for those navigating:

  • Stress, overwhelm, shutdown, or exhaustion

  • Trauma responses, big or small

  • Nervous system dysregulation

  • Chronic patterns that feel stuck

  • Transitions, grief, or emotional heaviness

  • Feeling like you’re “holding too much”

Trauma Informed Support for Healing Businesses

This support is designed for healers, helpers, and space holders who want the back end of their work to feel as grounded and cared for as the spaces they hold. Together, we tend to the administrative and operational pieces that often feel overwhelming or neglected, bringing clarity, steadiness, and structure to the parts of your practice that need it most.

This may include scheduling, client communication, invoicing, organization, and the systems that help your work flow with ease. Everything is held through a trauma informed lens, honoring your capacity, your nervous system, and the unique nature of your healing practice.

The intention is to create a supportive foundation for your work so you can focus on what you love while feeling more supported, resourced, and accompanied in the background of your business.

Who I Support

I support individuals who are carrying more than their nervous system can comfortably hold. This may look like stress, overwhelm, shutdown, burnout, emotional heaviness, or the quiet sense that you are moving through the world on your own. Many of my clients come to me when something inside them is asking for a slower pace, a softer approach, or a place to reconnect with themselves in a fuller way.

I also support healers, helpers, space holders, and those who hold emotional or energetic responsibility for others. The people who care for everyone else often do so without places of their own to land. My work offers a grounded, trauma-informed space where you don’t have to hold everything together, perform, or stay “on.” Instead, you’re invited to arrive just as you are and let yourself be steadied, supported, and accompanied.

I work with people who are navigating life transitions, grief, chronic stress, or old patterns that continue to shape their present. I support those who feel disconnected from their bodies, their intuition, or the parts of themselves that once felt alive and expressive. Whether your system feels activated, collapsed, overwhelmed, or simply tired, this work meets you gently, at the pace that feels possible.

Above all, I support anyone seeking connection, regulation, and relief, anyone ready to explore what it feels like to be held with care rather than to hold everything alone.

About Jen:

The Holding Ground was born out of my own journey — a path shaped by a deep understanding that healing asks for slowness, safety, and for steady, compassionate support.

I believe we need spaces of gentle holding to heal, reconnect, and take our next steps. My hope is that The Holding Ground offers you that kind of space, a place where your growth is supported. In my practice, I offer somatic-based support for individuals seeking deeper healing, as well as gentle, behind-the-scenes help for healing businesses.

Whether it’s a personal session or tending to the details that help your practice thrive, like scheduling, invoicing, or organization, my intention is always the same: to create a grounded, nurturing space where you feel held, supported, and valued.

My work is guided by softness, presence, and a trust in the body's wisdom. I hold a deep respect for the tender places inside each of us that know when it’s time to move, to rest, or to be witnessed without needing to change. Healing and allowing support in isn’t about rushing, it’s about noticing, honoring, and holding what arises.

If you are someone who feels called to slow down, to reconnect with your own body’s wisdom, or to find steady support for your healing business — you are welcome here. Whether you’re seeking help for yourself or for the work you offer others, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

What Somatic Experiencing® is:

Somatic Experiencing® an integrative approach to wellness that recognizes the interconnection between mind, body and spirit. Rooted in psycho-biology and neuroscience, it allows for a powerful path towards attaining inner clarity, personal fulfillment and physical and emotional health.

Somatic Experiencing® works by supporting the nervous system in finding more ease and capacity. The SE approach gently facilitates the completion of self-protective motor responses and the release of thwarted survival energy bound in the body.  Experiences, as well as our interpretations of those experiences, are reflected not only in our thoughts and feelings but also in the way we move, how we breathe and how we have held our bodies over the years.

A Somatic Experiencing session is gentle, collaborative, and led by your body’s natural pacing. We begin by settling into the space together and checking in with how you’re arriving, physically, emotionally, and internally. From there, we follow what feels possible for your system in the moment.

You won’t need to retell your whole story or revisit anything overwhelming, although there is space in session to share what comes up for you. We explore what’s happening in your body right now through simple awareness of sensations, breath, tension, softening, and small internal shifts. This may include noticing what feels supportive, what feels activated, or what’s asking for attention.

As we move through the session, I help you track your nervous system gently and stay within a range that feels manageable. We may work with grounding, resourcing, orientation, or slowing things down so your system can settle and reorganize. Sometimes we explore subtle movements, imagery, or supportive Somatic Experiencing® touch, always with your comfort and consent.

Somatic Experiencing® touch sessions are gentle, steady contact that helps your body feel supported from the inside. Through very light, non-invasive touch, always with your consent, providing the nervous system with grounding and containment. This can help soften activation, ease overwhelm, and bring more presence into areas that feel tense, collapsed, or disconnected.  By giving the body attention through movement, sound and awareness of subtle sensations and gestures, we gain insight into long-held patterns of thoughts, emotions, behaviors and physical pain.

The pace is slow and steady. You are never pushed, rushed, or asked to go beyond your capacity. The intention of each session is to create space for your body to unwind what it’s been holding, find a bit more ease, and reconnect with your own sense of safety and internal support.

What Somatic Experiencing® is not:

Somatic Experiencing® is not talk therapy, cognitive processing, or a method of revisiting traumatic memories in detail. It does not require you to analyze your experiences, re-live painful events, or push yourself into anything overwhelming.

Somatic Experiencing® is not a quick-fix technique or a forceful approach to emotional release. It doesn’t involve diagnosing, giving advice, or telling you what your experiences mean. Instead, it follows your body’s natural pacing and supports change through gentle awareness, regulation, and the completion of what your system has been holding.

Somatic Experiencing® is not a replacement for talk therapy or mental health treatment. It does not take the place of psychotherapy and is not intended to treat mental health diagnoses. It can be a supportive companion to therapeutic work, offering a body-based approach that helps the nervous system settle, integrate, and find more ease.
